Obama and Dems: Fiscal Responsibility is for Suckas’

Just like he has for the last year, and throughout his candidacy, O-bow-ma is lying to us again.  He thinks we are all stupid.  After all of the broken promises he has made, why should we even entertain the thought that he might be telling the truth this time?  Even if his “spending freeze” becomes a reality, it is like trying to bail out the Pacific Ocean with a tea cup.
Imagine that you send your son or daughter to college.  They come home at the end of the first year and confess that they have run up a $50,000 tab on your credit card.  But they say “It’s OK, Dad.  I’m going to freeze my spending at that level for the next 3 years.“  Does that make you feel any better about going to the poor house?
If we are serious about cutting the debt and the deficit, stimulating the economy, and preserving the American way of life, then we will not only cap NON-DEFENSE spending to include Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and all the other social entitlement spending that no one is actually “entitled” to, we will do away with the IRS, the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, and most of the other unnecessary governmental agencies that don’t live up to the purpose for which they were commissioned.  Return to the LIMITED role of government that was intended by our founding fathers, and watch Americans rise to the occasion and restore us to our place as the greatest nation on earth.

GOP Skeptical of Obama’s Commitment to Fiscal Prudence

(CNSNews.com) – While calling for a modest spending freeze and the creation of a bipartisan task force to examine government spending, President Obama also announced a number of new spending proposals in his first State of the Union address. (It’s worse than a woman who spends $3,000 at the after Christmas sales and comes home boasting of how much money she has saved.  Obama is saying “I’m going to save money by spending more of it.”  Let’s see him put his money where is big, fat, left-leaning ideological mouth is and donate his entire salary to charity.)
…The freeze – which is projected to save $250 billion over 10 years — would make only a marginal dent in the federal deficit, which was $1.4 trillion in 2009 and will be an estimated $1 trillion per year for the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The national debt, meanwhile, is $12.3 trillion.  (Understand that his “freeze” only saves $25 billion per year, while running up an additional $1 trillion deficit per year.  So Obama’s scam ONLY SHAVES 2.5% FROM HIS SKYROCKETING SPENDING.)
President George W. Bush’s final budget for fiscal year 2009 included $589 billion in discretionary spending. Obama’s first budget proposal for fiscal year 2010 hiked non-defense discretionary spending by 19.5 percent to $704 billion. …

Spending Cuts – Not Revenues – Key to Solving Budget Shortfall, GOP Leaders Say

(CNSNews.com) – Top House Republicans Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said that spending cuts, not increased revenues, were the key to resolving the nation’s projected $6 trillion in deficit spending over the next decade. …
…“Keep in mind the president promised he was going to go through that budget line-by-line and scrub that budget. I have a dream someday the president’s going to do what he says,” Gohmert said. (he’ll scrub defense spending and anything not directly connected with buying votes for liberals from the budget.)
…“Their progressive ideology is taking us down what I call a tipping point, after which a majority of Americans are [more] dependent upon the federal government than they are on themselves – a kind of European-style welfare state where high unemployment is a fixture and there is no reward for personal initiative and responsibility, people just expect the government to take care of them.”…
…CNSNews.com asked Ryan whether he supported doing that by cutting spending by $6 trillion over the next decade, the amount necessary to return to a balanced budget. Ryan said that not only did he support the idea – his legislation provided a responsible way to do it. …

Sen. Gregg: Eliminating Some Federal Agencies to Reduce Spending Is ‘Great Idea’

Washington (CNSNews.com) – Sen. Judd Gregg, the Budget Committee’s ranking Republican, told CNSNews.com that eliminating some federal agencies to reduce spending – with the goal of balancing the budget — is a “great idea.” …
… “Well, you’re going have to reduce the rate of growth of the federal government,” (Hey, Judd.  How about STOPPING the growth of the federal government?  This windsock style double speak is why you need to follow your democrat counterparts to the train station and board the train permanently leaving Washington.) Gregg told CNSNews.com. “You’re going to have to increase the activity in the economy to get the revenues back up, but yes, you’ve got to control spending — that’s the bottom line.”
“We’re spending too much money,” Gregg continued. “We’ve taken the size of the government — 20 percent of GDP, up to 25 percent of GDP — just in a year, and we simply can’t sustain a government that’s 25 percent of GDP.” …

McCain Says He Supports Cutting Federal Spending Enough to Counter the $6 Trillion in New Debt CBO Predicts over Next Ten Years

(CNSNews.com) – Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Tuesday he would support cutting federal spending enough to counter-balance the $6 trillion in new debt that a newly released Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report indicated would be added to the federal ledgers over the next ten years if current laws govering taxing and spending are maintained. …
… Is each of you prepared to support that budget, or–excuse me—spending cuts to that extent over the next decade to bring the budget in line over the course of 10 years?”
“Yes,” said McCain, ”and everybody’s going to – the reaction to this is going to be, ‘It’s too hard. We can’t do it. It’s too hard. You can’t do it. You can’t do that.’” …
… McCain’s chart showed that the federal debt in 2001 was roughly 57.4 percent of GDP back in 2001, but was projected to balloon to 114.4 percent of GDP by 2019. As a reference point, the highest that ratio ever climbed during World War II was 121.7 percent, just slightly higher than these new projections. …

Senate Budget Chairman: ‘We Can Handle’ Current Level of Debt But Long-Term Trajectory ‘Unsustainable’

(CNSNews.com) – Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) in reference to the latest economic forecast by the Congressional Budget Office [CBO] said “we can handle” the current level of debt. (You think so?  We can never pay off the debt we have today, much less if we pile another $6 Trillion in debt.  You say we can handle it like we did post WWII.  But that assumes we have an economy that actually produces wealth.  If we don’t bring back industry and business to America with a favorable business environment, we’re finished.)
… In the long-term, “if we stay on the course we’re on, it is completely and totally unsustainable – the debt that will approach 400 percent of the Gross Domestic Product of the United States,” Conrad said. …

Sen. Casey Won’t Commit to Cutting the $6 Trillion Needed to Balance the Budget; Blames Bush for Deficits

(CNSNews.com) – Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) would not say, when asked, if he would support a federal spending cut of $6 trillion over the next decade, the amount needed to bring the budget into balance, according to a new Congressional Budget Office report. …
… “Well, what we need to do is get back to fiscal responsibility, and one of the problems — one of the reasons why we’re still in the hole, and digging out of the hole, is because President Bush came into office and ran up — he and his Republican friends — ran up a lot of deficits,” Casey said. (There it is.  You knew you wouldn’t have to wait long to hear a democrat blame Bush for something, anything, and everything.  As irresponsible as Bush and the Republicans were in the previous 8 years, Obama and the democrats have more than doubled what Bush spent IN JUST ONE FREAKING YEAR! So shut that putrid pie hole under your stuck up elitist noses, you stupid liberals.  The “blame Bush” excuse is over.  You bought this steaming economic turd.  You own it now.)
… In addition, the CBO said the unemployment rate would probably not go below 9 percent until 2012, while individual income taxes are expected to rise by 33 percent in 2011. (Did you copy that?  YOUR INCOME TAXES WILL GO UP 33% NEXT YEAR.  That should piss you off to the point you are frothing at the mouth.  Mr. O-bow-ma throws lavish parties and jet sets all over the world living at our expense with no worries at all.  He sacrifices NOTHING while we are pushed into the salt mines.  If my taxes go up 33%, I’ll be bankrupt.  He can come and try take my house from me in person.  I’d like that.)
President Obama has announced that he would like a three-year freeze on ‘non-security’ spending which would amount to around $15 billion saved per year — a small fraction of the total projected deficit. (Yet he will do nothing to CUT spending.  Saying he has identified $25 Billion in cost savings (which I don’t believe) is just as insulting as saying he has “saved or created” umpteen million jobs when the unemployment rate continues to march steadily upward every month.  He’s lying about that AGAIN.  EVERY month since he has been in office an additional several hundred thousand people have lost their jobs.)
